I. ADMISSION POLICY (FOR INCOMING GRADE 7 LEARNERS)
A. NEW STUDENTS (GRADE 7)
Upholding the standards of the school as the premier public educational institution in the City of San Juan, the following guidelines are hereby outlined with regard to admissions to the Junior High School program.
a. Admission Requirements
Elementary pupils graduating from both public and private schools may apply based on the following qualifications:
have quarterly grade of at least 85% in Science, Mathematics, and English and a grade of at least 83% in all other subjects as evidence by the learner’s grade in Grade 6,1st and 2nd Quarter Grades;
be a Filipino citizen with no pending/approved application as immigrant to any foreign country;
possess good moral character;
preferably in good health and fit to undergo rigorous academic program as certified by a government physician;
have no yet taken the SJCSHS Qualifying Examination previously;
have undergone an interview after passing the SJCSHS Qualifying Examination.
b. List of Application Requirements
Interested applicants shall submit the following:
Duly accomplished Application Form
Recommendation letter from Grade 6 class adviser or School Head
Certified true copy (with school dry seal) of learner’s progress report card reflecting the 1st and 2nd quarter grades
Original photo copy of PSA Birth Certificate
Original barangay certification for proof of residency
2 pcs passport – size – colored pictures (with the name of the pupil – applicant)
Note: All required documents should be properly accomplished and submitted on what is written on the given memorandum from the Schools Division of the City of San Juan.
II. STUDENTS RETENTION POLICY
JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL
San Juan City Science High School abides by DepEd Order 41, s. 2005 (Implementing Guidelines in the Admission, Retention, Grading System, and Selection of Honor Students in the Regional Science High School), and DepEd ORDER No. 8 s. 2015 Policy Guidelines on Classroom Assessment for the K to 12 Basic Education Program, San Juan City Science High School is mandated to provide an intensive and advanced junior high school education program with emphasis on English, Science and Mathematics.
